A strong rock formation from the formidable city of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. A combination of powerful riffs, melting basslines and jazzed up drum accents that will take you across universes. If you’re into Led Zeppelin, Queens Of The Stone Age and Soundgarden you’re in for a treat. But don’t be fooled by these heavy names, this music is not only limited to “heading banging” and “moshing”. ‘Cause if there is one thing this ensemble can do, it’s getting your grooves on.
Lokotov Mocktail consists of the following three fine men:
Specialized in heavy riffs, politics and videogames.
Specialized in lyrics and thinking out of the box. Next to music he’s also a visual artist and designer among many other things.
Originally a jazz and funk drummer as a well as a young ambitious game journalist and entrepreneur.
All three of them originate from Best, which, in all fairness is a pretty boring town close to Eindhoven. That’s why all three of these boys still have a passion for videogames next to making music. With titles like “Dear Lutemis” and “Solution 9.” it’s hard to deny that a lot of inspiration is drawn, especially from “Adventure Games”.
At the core of this musical alliance is Daan, who has been playing guitar since he was 15. He started off as a metal head on his BC Rich and never fully shook off his love for heavy riffs. But he has always taken his instrument very seriously and even in his younger years he learned to play classical guitar and gained a lot of knowledge on music theory. Right next to him is Dani, who befriended Daan when they were both sixteen. Dani got inspired to get into music and so they started a band together. Dani started off as the singer but eventually took up bass guitar as well. After a while these two hotheads grew apart and both of them played in different bands for several years. After years of silence these two comrades were mature enough to patch things up and started playing together again. For a while they played in the exact same formation they did in their first band, but due to private “grown-up” matters like work and study, they split up again.
Dani took a different direction and released two solo EP’s. He travelled to Australia and Asia for two years. Meanwhile Daan played bass and guitar in several different projects and came across the final missing piece of the successful formula: Tom Oggel, a young entrepreneur and a jazz drummer. Shortly after Dani’s return the three of them agreed to do a bit of a jam and then the obvious happened. With Tom adding influences from Jazz, Funk and Blues into the mix, they wrote enough material to start playing on stage within a few months.
They recorded their first EP: “Space Monster”, released in June 2018.
